The family members of a young father shot and killed yesterday on Morris Avenue are urging police to make an arrest in the case as they mourn his death. Investigators say 17-year-old Taisheem Ferguson was shot in broad daylight during a dispute near the corner of 153rd Street, and was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital. Residents say gun violence is prominent in their neighborhood, and that the pain is stronger with only days left until Christmas. "You can't open up gifts and be happy knowing he's not here," says Crystal, who was living with the victim. Ferguson leaves behind a 1-year-old son, and other family members say he treated their children as if they were his own. Police say they will continue to search for suspects.
