An Ossining couple has been left without a home after a tree fell and crushed their house overnight.
Authorities say a 911 call reporting the tree fall at 120 South Highland Avenue came in just before 3 a.m.
The couple was sleeping in a bedroom in the back of the house when the fall occurred, according to authorities.
Fire officials say the couple was able to leave the home unharmed and are currently staying with family.
Neighbors in the area were shocked by the incident.
“I saw a flash and I heard a loud sound… It was like a thunderstorm,” said Jay Kraft.
“I was scared,” Kevin Chocho said. “I thought another tree was going to knock down our house.”
“I got too nervous,” said Neide Bato. “I was thinking about the people inside.”
