A New Jersey firefighter who died as a result of injuries suffered while responding to an emergency two months ago has been laid to rest.
Family and friends gathered at Mitruska Funeral Home Monday morning to pay their final respects to Thomas Kolarick.
The Keasbey Fire Department said in a Facebook post on Saturday that Deputy Chief Kolarick died Wednesday after responding to an incident on Sept. 17.
The statement says Kolarick was a 41-year veteran firefighter and served numerous roles including fire chief and president.
