The weather will remain quiet for the most part this week and even into next weekend.
Fair weather is anchored over the Great Lakes and will be very slow to move away. This helps steer not one but two tropical systems away from the East Coast.
Sunny skies will warm the air to the low 80s on Tuesday. September is going out on a summery note. Soak it in. Reality rolls up on us for Wednesday. While the sky is sunny, the air becomes autumnal. Much cooler air from Canada slides in for the remainder of the week. Afternoon highs only in the mid to upper 60s.
Here's the rub with the forecast – the ocean.
There is going to be a lot of energy in the water in the form of waves. The wave action from Humberto and Imelda will be fanning up the East Coast, heading towards New Jersey. Waves will continue to increase in size Tuesday through Thursday. Dangerous rip currents, beach erosion and possible coastal flooding will be the primary threats.
