A Harrison former superintendent of public works will serve three years for official misconduct for stealing $100,000 from town parking meters.While working for the town, William Tanski, 55, was stealing coins from city meters unnoticed over a period of years. Many of these meters were located near the PATH trains. After Tanski retired in 2004, Harrison officials noticed a startling increase in meter coin collection, and began to review previous year?s records. Tanski was arrested in 2006 and pleaded guilty to all charges. He now faces three years in prison.Authorities say that Tanski had a gambling problem and is saddled with thousands of dollars in debt.
