Emergency repair work begins on Route 22
Repairs on a bridge over Route 22 are sure to slow down the evening commute.
The repairs come after concrete fell from the overpass Tuesday evening. There have been reports that the concrete was falling on Route 22 in both directions.
The DOT says there is no timetable when it will cleared up.
The repairs affects both directions of traffic, and is occurring east of North Broad Street between Hillside and Newark.
Besides delays from repairs, heavy rain expected tonight may also affect the evening commute.
Officials advise drivers to use I-87.
