An Elizabeth man was sentenced to 25 years in state prison on Friday - exactly two years after trying to kill a woman in a road rage incident.

Vincent Jean repeatedly ran over the victim with his car after he saw she was taking pictures of it. The incident happened on April 12, 2022.

Witnesses say that Jean was backing down the one-way Salem Avenue when he hit another car, driven by a 23-year-old woman. That woman got out of her car to take pictures of the fender before Jean could leave in his Mitsubishi SUV. Witnesses say that the act of trying to take photos is what apparently set Jean off.

Jean was found guilty in February of attempted murder and numerous other charges.
