Teachers and school employees are being vaccinated against the coronavirus at Crocket Middle School in Hamilton Saturday.
One thousand first doses of the Pfizer vaccine are available for educators in the area.
Mercer County and the Mercer County Education Association, the union that represents teachers in the county, organized the event.
Gov. Phil Murphy’s office and Walgreens are working together to get as many teachers and school staff vaccinated at the pop-up place.
There are around 7,000 teachers and staff in Mercer County, and the pop-up site is exclusively for educators in the county.
Educators say they are eager to get vaccinated, as well as return to the classroom.
"We are excited to be vaccinated. We've been waiting for our opportunity for this, we want to return to normalcy. We miss having kids in the school every day. It's so difficult teaching hybrid and virtually and we want to return to pre-COVID times," said Grace Rarich, president of Mercer County Education Association.
Another round of 1,000 first doses will be given next Saturday.
