Countless events were held around New Jersey Sunday in celebration of fallen soldiers, including Edison's 46th Memorial Day Parade.
John Mozgai, a World War II veteran who saw action on the shores of Normandy, attends the parade every year.
"I love to see the parade and the flag go by because I'm a patriotic person," he says.
The parade also celebrated the role of canines in past wars and included an appearance from a descendent of the original Rin Tin Tin, who was rescued from a bombed-out shelter during World War I.
"It wasn't just men and women who lost lives in defense of this country," says attendee Bill Stephens.
The town holds its Memorial Day festivities on Sunday in order not to conflict with other events. Town officials dedicated two streets to fallen veterans earlier in the day.
