Newark residents who haven?t been paying their water bills lined up at City Hall Monday after the city threatened them with dry faucets.
Many residents came out to make some sort of arrangement with the city before the city shut their service off. Raquel Berger, the landlord of a three-family home, says she can?t pay the water bill if her tenants don?t pay their rent.
"Six months not paying rent, how are you going to afford your water bill?? says Berger. ?So we did a payment plan."
Some residents say the city gave them minimal notice. Some showed up after the city had already turned their water off.
