Dozens of people gathered on the New Windsor Town Hall lawn for a solar eclipse viewing party.
Free viewing glasses are being handed out. There’s music and food for the event and a solar eclipse selfie station.
One person set up a telescope with a special solar eclipse filter.
People said they’ve been waiting for this day for weeks; some have seen an eclipse before and others haven’t.
“A couple weeks ago when they started talking about it I said, ‘yeah, yeah, no big deal,’ but it’s amazing to see through the glasses,” said Charlotte Diker.
