Dog found running around the Parkway soon to be up for adoption
A dog that state police found running around the Garden State Parkway will soon be up for adoption.
New Jersey State Police rescued “PK” or “Parkway Dog” last month after they found the pit bull running around the highway in Irvington. The dog was unharmed and no owner has claimed her.
On Thursday, the East Orange Animal Shelter named the Halfway Home Animal Rescue Team as the rescue that will coordinate PK’s adoption.
The dog is currently being spayed and will undergo an operation to remove a tumor on her belly – but was otherwise in good health when she was found.
The dog will stay in foster care until she is adopted.
Anyone interested in finding out more about adopting PK or any other animal can contact Home Animal Rescue Team via their website.
