While Valentine's Day typically brings to mind thoughts of chocolate and roses, some New Jersey lawyers say it actually brings to mind a spike in business.
East Brunswick attorney Ed Weinstein says divorce lawyers see a flurry of activity the day after Valentine's Day. He says his office received 17 calls Thursday pertaining to divorce after being open for just three hours. Weinstein adds the holiday seems to be the instigating factor that provokes an unhappy spouse to take control.
Aside from divorce attorneys, private investigators say they also become busy near Valentine's. Dawn Rice, of All State Investigations, says phones have been ringing off the hook in the last three days.
