The New Jersey Devils and Stop & Shop teamed up to promote the importance of a flu shot.
Former Devils player Colin White and the team’s mascot NJ Devil visited Stop & Shop in Elizabeth on Tuesday.
James Dinicola, manager of pharmacy operations at Stop & Shop, said it’s important to get a flu shot every year to "protect yourself from illness, medical visits and hospitalization."
"Reducing the flu is very significant and Stop & Shop has worked to ensure that we have enough vaccinations available in all pharmacies to keep our communities safe this fall,” Dinicola said in a statement.
The flu shot is updated every year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the flu shot can reduce the risk of needing a doctor by up to 60%.
