The upcoming NBA and NHL drafts are perfect examples of how bad the teams were last season, and how bad most teams in the area are.
Living in the area means you have the chance to root for 11 teams, sadly though, most of them are terrible.
The NBA Draft is Thursday night, and teams such as the New York Knicks hope it will help turn around their franchise.

Then on Friday, the New Jersey Devils pick first in the NHL Draft with the hope of landing a star player -- also a reminder of how bad the team was last season.
The area's longest championship drought is the New York Jets. Just when you think the team has something going, their top football executive gets fired over a reported rift with the new coach.

The Knicks are so desperate they put all their hope in lottery balls, one in which they had a 14-percent chance to win. The team can't even lose right.

It's been 36 years for the New York Islanders, 33 for the New York Mets, and 25 for the New York Rangers -- even the New York Yankees have gone a decade without a title.
