First responders are in mourning after the death of the Keasbey Fire Department's deputy chief.
Deputy Chief Thomas Kolarick died Wednesday after succumbing to a complication he sustained from responding to a call in September.
The Keasbey Fire Department posted a statement on the department's Facebook page. "Our hearts are heavy as he was an ex-chief and member of the department for over 40 years. He mentored many of our young members and will be missed."
Kolarick joined the department in 1974.
A public viewing will be held at Mitruska Funeral Home in Fords on Sunday.
