The defense has rested its case in the Jose Carranza trial today.
Carranza is accused of helping to kill three college-aged friends and attacking a fourth person in the summer of 2007.The slayings happened at a Newark schoolyard.
He had been scheduled to testify, but changed his mind after consulting with his attorney and family.
