Staying loyal to your employer might pay off financially for some workers in New Jersey, according to new data collected by ADP.

ADP Pay Insights found that New Jersey residents who stay at their jobs saw a 4.3% pay increase year-over-year between January 2025 through January 2026, when compared to people who frequently change jobs. That's slightly below the 4.5 % national wage increase for "job-stayers."

According to ADP - a payroll and HR company - New Jersey ranks 43rd among all states for wage growth. The new data also showed that, for the month of January, people who stayed in the same job earned a median salary of $67,500.

The data also showed that the industries with the highest year-over-year pay growth included finance, manufacturing, and construction. In addition, companies that had higher numbers of employees also recorded higher pay increases for employees.

To compile the report, ADP Pay Insights pulled data from payroll transactions for more than 14.8 million individual employees over a 12-month period.
