Crews are on scene working to remove a garbage truck that has been stuck on the roof of a Clifton Apartment Complex parking deck for over a week.
An Interstate IWS Trash truck sank into the top of the parking deck behind the Country Club Towers apartment building on Hepburn Road in Clifton a week ago Monday, according to tenants. Clifton police say the incident took place on July 27 just before 3 p.m.
The complex is located just across the street from the entrance to Upper Montclair Country Club.
It appears the driver mistakenly drove the truck, which is estimated to weigh between 20,000 and 40,000 pounds, onto the parking deck despite a clearly posted sign prohibiting vehicles weighing more than 8,000 pounds.
No injuries have been reported.
Tenants tell News 12 it’s an inconvenience at best, having to park on the street.
We’ll have updates as crews continue to work to safely remove the vehicle.
