Darlington County Park will be closed this weekend due to “harmful algae blooms,” according to Bergen County officials.
County officials said the Mahwah park will be closed through Sunday, Aug. 10.
“All water and non-water recreational activities will be unavailable during this time. The county apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates the public’s patience and understanding," officials said in a statement.
The Bergen Parks Department will be working to address the algae blooms in order to reopen the park “as quickly and safely as possible.”
Residents who bought tickets to the Splash Zone will be refunded.
