Cumberland County hit-and-run injures 3 teenagers; driver arrested
A Cedarville man was charged after a hit-and-run crash that injured three juvenile pedestrians in Cumberland County, authorities said.
New Jersey State Police said troopers responded around 7 p.m. Feb. 14 to County Road 553 North, where a Jeep SUV driven by Eric Rodriguez, 30, entered the right shoulder and struck three juveniles.
A 17-year-old boy suffered serious injuries, a 15-year-old boy suffered moderate injuries and another 15-year-old boy suffered minor injuries. All were taken to an area hospital.
Rodriguez fled before troopers arrived but was later identified and arrested. He was charged with three counts of assault by auto and two counts of leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
The crash remains under investigation.
