Saturday's beautiful weather drew crowds of people from all over to the Jersey Shore.
It was good news for the seasonal businesses that are ramping up operations for the warmer months in Monmouth County.
Jimmy Kumaras has operated the pizza shop Jimmy's Place for the last five years. The restaurant is open part-time until Memorial Day, but already he's predicting strong sales. "I think it'll be a great season," Kumaras said. "Last year was our best season. We worked with the weather, we had picture-perfect weather."
Saturday's crowds were good news for Kumaras, who has spent $80,000 to rebuild the pizzeria after Superstorm Sandy without any insurance money.
The Asbury boardwalk saw crowds that almost approached Fourth of July levels. Business owners there were happy to welcome in customers after the long, dreary winter.
Many businesses along the Shore will be open on a temporary basis until Memorial Day.
