Gas and utility crews worked all night to secure the area on Hall Avenue in Perth Amboy following an explosion Thursday.
Officials say the explosion was strong enough to cause a fire within the juice bar on the first floor of a three-story building.
Someone happened to be walking by when the explosion occurred. That person was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Residents who lived upstairs had to be relocated and are now being assisted by the Red Cross.
It's believed a gas leak was the cause of the explosion and the investigation continues while the gas main was secured.
