A New Jersey appeals court ruled that two Hackensack police officers should not have been fired after being accused of a warrantless search in 2016.
The city wanted to fire Rocco Duardo, Victor Vazquez and Mark Gutierrez after the December 2016 search.
Gutierrez was fired while the other two were given six-month suspensions and then reinstated.
Seven officers in total were suspended in all.
The appeals court upheld the decision to fire Gutierrez.
