Authorities say the number of home break-ins has spiked recently in northern New Jersey. They claim repeat burglars can get out of jail quickly and resume their criminal careers.
Earlier this year, Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J) vetoed an anti-burglary law, saying he would rather strengthen existing laws.
