The company that runs a private center for convicted felons is defending the program and its security after a convicted felon escaped from the facility.
Jerome Reid, convicted of attempted murder, recently jumped a fence and escaped the facility. He was found several hours later.
Joseph Moore, assistant director of the Bo Robinson Education and Training Center, said the incident is not indicative of any problem with the facility?s security.
Moore said the facility does a lot of good, but there are always going to be one or two individuals that are not on the same page as the rest.
Officials are questioning whether Reid should have been placed there to begin with. Reid?s was the second escape of the year.
Managers at Bo Robinson say they constantly review their security processes and will continue to do so. They also say they will work with the state parole board to see if changes to their selection process are needed.
