The Hamilton community is continuing to rally around the family involved in a deadly house collapse earlier this month – and they are calling on others to help.
Tika Justice, 38, was killed and her two daughters injured when their home collapsed in on itself. Justice’s 16-year-old daughter remains hospitalized.
Officials at the Saint Phillip’s Baptist Church have started a GoFundMe page. They are trying to raise $10,000 by Wednesday to help pay for the funeral.
The community has already come out to donate clothing and household items to the daughters.
“We have collected over 120 bags of clothing, shoes and household items,” says Pastor Joseph Woods. “We have also received some furniture and are working on long-term housing as well.”
Officials say that severe water damage underneath the house caused the collapse.
