Community donates funds for former police officer John Sole fighting cancer
A former Totowa police officer is getting a helping hand from the community that he served.
Officer John Sole is fighting cancer. Now, the TD Bank on Union Boulevard is taking donations and matching all the loose change that is filtered into their Penny Arcade. The funds will go toward Officer Sole's medical bills.
"It's a way for us to give back to the people that have done well and do things throughout the community," says TD Bank manager Dan O'Neill. "It's a way for everybody to get involved."
Officer Sole was forced to retire from the Totowa police force in 2007 after he was shot in the line of duty.
Anyone who wishes to donate to the cause should visit the TD Bank in Totowa.
