New Jersey community college students have just one month left to begin the application process to qualify for free tuition.
Gov. Phil Murphy highlighted the program during a visit to Middlesex County Community College Wednesday afternoon.
Any student seeking free tuition must start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid before Sept. 15. Any tuition expenses or fees not covered by financial aid, can be paid for by state Community College Opportunity grants.
“This is a last-dollar financial aid program…you have to be a good student…you have to take enough classes and you have to prove that you've exhausted all your other financial aid options, particularly things like the federal money, like Pell grants,” Murphy said.
