Residents of Old Bridge told News 12 they were devastated to hear that Comfi Breakfast & Lunch was closing after nine years.

“Bad timing that they're closing, it's a bummer,” said customers Lynne and Matt Stelljes.

Owner Jacek Mastalerczyk says they are focusing on their newly renovated location in Belmar.

"We outgrew our kitchen…the most important thing is our quality of food which we're trying to keep…but it's very hard,” he said.

Comfi’s menu featured eight kinds of French toast, along with other breakfast staples. However, their specialty is Polish food.

A new owner will take over the restaurant next Tuesday and change the name to Fiesta Breakfast.

Although the new owners plan to keep the original menu, loyal customers say they'll still make the trip to Comfi’s in Belmar. It was closed for renovations at the beginning of the year and is set to reopen in five weeks.
