It's a beautifully warm day today with highs in the lower 70s as the sun shines through the midday. A cold front passes by the state through the evening tonight to drop showers and thunderstorms overnight into tomorrow morning. Temperatures are generally mild overnight until they begin to fall after the rain wraps up Friday.
Friday's rain will be impactful for the morning commute, causing minor delays and soggy conditions. Temperatures will be in the mid-50s for the morning before dropping to the lower 50s by the afternoon. The temperatures continue to fall into the 40s and then 30s for the night into Saturday where Saturday is a colder day.
Saturday's high will be near 45 degrees with a warm midday sun. There will be a few thin clouds. Although the sun feels warm, the air will feel cold. Sunday is a bit better with highs near 55 degrees and a mostly sunny sky.
Next week's temperatures will be in the lower 60s under a mostly cloudy sky. The jet stream becomes more active and its possible that a surge of warmth can arrive to New Jersey toward the very end of the week to bring temperatures to the 80s. This is dynamic feature of the forecast right now so it can change drastically, yet it is notable and worth watching.
