Clifton police pulled a 2-year-old girl's body wrapped in plastic Sunday from the Passaic River, but are releasing few details about the case.
Two fishermen found the body behind a house on Ackerman Avenue and called 911 at around 1 p.m., police say. Although police aren't giving much information, one police source says the department is treating the case as a homicide.
Authorities will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death and how long the girl was in the river. Anyone with information is asked to call the Clifton Police Department.
The girl was one of two bodies discovered in the river. Divers also recovered a female body in Elmwood Park that may a 44-year-old Waldwick woman who has been missing since Thursday.
