Clark Township Mayor Sal Bonaccorso has been reelected for a seventh term despite prior accusations that he abused his power in office.

In 2022, he was allegedly recorded making racist and sexist comments. The news created controversy and prompted calls for him to resign.

The Attorney General also accused him of using town resources for his personal business.

Authorities say he was later charged with witness tampering, forgery and tampering with public records or information.
