Clark police: Teen arrested for home burglary, stealing Porsche from driveway

Police are again reminding residents to lock and secure key fobs after a teen stole a Porsche from a driveway in Clark.

A teen from Essex County was charged with burglary and car theft after breaking into a home in Clark and stealing a Porsche, according to police.
Authorities say the teen broke into a home on Hillside Avenue on Oct. 13 before taking the car from the driveway. The car was later found in Essex County.

Police are reminding residents that there has been an increase in motor vehicle thefts where suspects enter occupied residences to remove key fobs to high end vehicles. They advise residents to lock doors and windows. They also say to secure key fobs in Faraday bags or boxes and in locations that are not near points of entry.
Police say there has been an increase in thefts of certain Kia and Hyundai vehicles. If you own a Kia or Hyundai, police encourage you to check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is affected.
