A dog missing for nearly two years is back home with her family, thanks to the officers with the Clark Police Department.

A resident called to report a lost dog wandering near Clark Commons on March 4. A patrolman took custody of the dog and brought her to Clark police headquarters.

Officers used a microchip scanner and connected with a pet recovery service linked to the dog, which led them to the dog’s last recorded owners in Glenn Heights, Texas.

When officers called, the owners were stunned.

They told police their dog, Koko, had gone missing nearly two years ago in Texas.

The couple immediately made plans to fly to New Jersey.

Officers and dispatchers bathed Koko, fed her, gave her treats, walked her regularly and made sure she was comfortable with blankets and toys.

On Saturday, the owners arrived at police headquarters and were happily reunited with their dog.
