T-Mobile is trying to install a cell-phone tower in City Island but residents are crying out against it.
Many neighbors complain that a tall tower could take away from the ambiance of the Quant Island town. Some believe that radiation emitted from the tower could be dangerous to one?s health.
The landlord of a local apartment building says T-Mobile proposed the idea and said the tower would provide better cell-phone service for the community.
A local zoning law prohibited the installation of the tower, requiring the structure be no higher than 35 feet.
