Gov. Chris Christie today delivered his annual budget address at the Statehouse.
Christie says his vision for state government has led to more jobs, balanced budgets and renewed confidence. During his address, he laid out what he thinks needs to be done in order to keep the train rolling. Christie's proposed budget includes an overall income tax cut of 10 percent. He's also proposing the largest pension payment in the state's history.
The governor said he wants a restructuring of state departments that provide services for New Jersey's "most vulnerable citizens." Christie also is looking to allocate $2.5 million to establish drug courts for non-violent criminals in each county.
Democrats made it clear that they think the governor's road map has missed the mark again. Two major points that were discussed during their response to Christie's speech were property taxes and education.
