Christopher Christie spent seven years as New Jersey?s U.S. attorney and on Thursday filed papers to run for governor, but it turns out he?s not as recognizable to the state?s residents as perhaps he?d like.
News 12 New Jersey?s Tony Caputo hit the streets of Dunnellen to find out how many people know who Christie is. He showed a photo of Christie to 20 people out and about Friday and only two knew who he was.
Mike Donnelly, from North Plainfield, knew who Christie was, but Eric Bynes, from Middlesex, told Caputo, ?Never saw him before.?
In June, Christie faces a Republican primary challenge from Assemblyman Rick Merkt and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan. Those in political circles are already having fun with the idea of Christie in a possible showdown with Gov. Jon Corzine.
