Hundreds of residents joined former Giants star George Martin to participate in a charity walk that benefits Sept. 11 responders.
Martin's foundation, A Journey for 9/11, was set up to donate money to responders who have contracted illnesses after their exposure to ashes and other debris at ground zero. Hackensack Medical Center, Mt. Sinai Hospital and North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital are three of the recipients of funds.
Since the creation of the foundation in 2007, more than $3 million has been raised. The 13-mile walk began at the George Washington Bridge, crossed through Hackensack and ended at Giants Stadium.
