A child in Kent County, Delaware, about 20 miles away from the New Jersey border, was bitten by the blood-sucking insect known as the "kissing bug" – and the bug could be making its way to New Jersey.
According to the CDC, it’s the first time the bug has been found in Delaware.
The bug earned its name because it usually bites people on the face near their lips.
Some of the bugs can spread a potentially deadly illness known as Chagas Disease.
So far, there no reported cases in New Jersey – but the CDC's online tracking map labels New Jersey as a "potential" for the bug.
The bug and disease are usually only found in South and Central America.
