Although the temperatures across New Jersey are still near the freezing mark, the employees of Casino Pier in Seaside Heights are getting ready for the warmer weather.
The owners of the pier have started setting up games, inspecting rides and getting ready for the upcoming season.
"It's cold out, but with sun shining and you are looking at the ocean and sand you think it's spring and summer," says Casino Pier spokeswoman Maria Mastoris. "We're ready."
Despite temperatures only in the 40s, a handful of residents were out Monday walking the boardwalk and taking in the sights.
"It's going to be warm soon," says Doug Maday, of Seaside Heights. "I love seeing more and more people out. Some of the stands are opening."
Casino Pier officially opens to the public for the season this Saturday at noon. It will be open Saturday and Sundays through Memorial Day, before opening all week long.
