New Jersey state health officials have confirmed a case of measles exposure at a Fords funeral home.
According to health officials, a person who was unaware they had measles attended the Flynn and Son Funeral home on Fords Avenue two different times.
Anyone who attended the funeral home on May 11 and May 14 is urged to contact their doctor to discuss their exposure risk. This particularly concerns anyone who may not have been vaccinated against measles.
Symptoms of measles include rash, high fever, cough, runny nose and red, water eyes. It can lead to complications such as pneumonia and encephalitis.
A spokesman for Flynn and Son says everyone who works there is up to date with their shots and not as risk.
State health officials urge anyone who feels they were exposed to call their doctor first and not just show up at the office, so they can discuss proper steps to avoid more exposure.
Anyone who may have been exposed may see symptoms as late as June 4.
