New Jersey Transit trains are running normally once again on the Northeast Corridor after a car that became wedged under the passenger platform at the station in Edison caused delays.
Officials say that the driver was dropping someone off at the station Wednesday morning when the gas pedal got stuck. The car apparently went through a chain link fence that separates the parking lot from the platform and partially onto the train tracks. The car also knocked over a sign.
No one was hurt, but the driver was charged with careless driving and interference with transportation.
The incident caused delays of up to 30 minutes before the vehicle was removed later Wednesday morning.
The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
