An annual car show honoring first responders will donate proceeds this year to the family of fallen Nassau County Police Officer Patricia Espinosa.

The Police Surgeon’s Benevolent Association and the Centurion Cruisers Car Club hosted their 30th annual car show Sunday at St. Anthony’s High School.

The event featured a wide range of vehicles, including classic cars, trucks, muscle cars, service vehicles and antiques.

This year’s show paid tribute to Officer Espinosa, who was killed in a DWI crash in January. She is survived by her husband, who is also a Nassau County police officer, and their 2-year-old daughter. Matthew Smith, the underage drunken driver who hit Espinosa on her way to work, pleaded guilty last week to driving drunk and causing her death.

Organizers also honored Nassau County Police Officer Michael Hyland, who was seriously injured in October while riding a motorcycle in a funeral procession. Hyland was struck by a truck and has since been left unable to walk. He was released from Stony Brook University Hospital after spending 29 days there. Doctors at the time said he was critically injured from head to toe after the crash.

No charges were ever filed related to the incident.
