Police say a crash between a New Jersey Transit bus and a car left more than a dozen people injured this morning in Newark.
New Jersey Transit says the No. 34 bus was headed from Montclair to Newark's Penn Station with 29 people aboard early Monday.
Police say the bus was headed east on Market Street, and the car was headed west when the crash occurred at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard intersection.
The car, a Honda Civic, was allegedly operated by a 19-year-old unlicensed driver and received damage that included a busted front end and a smashed windshield.
Police ticketed the 19-year-old driver of the car on charges including careless driving and failure to have a license.
The owner of the car was ticketed for allowing the vehicle to be operated by an unlicensed driver.
The bus driver did not receive any summonses.
The driver and passenger in the car and everyone on the bus were taken to a hospital for treatment.
