A car crash Saturday morning sent a police officer to the hospital in Newark.
The crash happened at Nesbitt Street near 8th Avenue around 6 a.m.
A spokesperson for Newark says the driver of a Honda Pilot struck the officer, who was on a motorcycle.
The officer was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and complaints of pain.
The driver took off from the scene.
