California has passed a bill that would ban super early classes and move start times to 8:30 a.m. or later.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 60 percent of middle schoolers and 70 percent of high schoolers get too little sleep.
It comes in part because kids are forced to report to class too early.
Researchers found just one extra hour of sleep each night is correlated with a 13.3 percent greater chance of a student graduating high school and a 9.6 percent higher chance of a student attending college.
