Governor Jon Corzine (D-NJ) responded last week to concerns about property taxes, and now voters are responding back.
A new Quinnipiac poll shows Corzine?s approval rating jumped to 50 percent after his budget address. He now has the highest approval rating since he took office. The poll indicates New Jersey residents seem pleased with the latest plan to reduce property taxes.
Some poll results do indicate voters still have mixed feelings about the taxes and the plan. Approximately 66 percent of those surveyed approve of the property tax plan. However, 56 percent say they disapprove of Corzine?s handling of taxes overall. Meanwhile, Corzine is now trying to steer his budget plan through the Legislature.
