A Bronx family is in mourning after its 17-year-old son was killed Saturday morning when his car crashed over the guard rail on the Bronx River Parkway in Yonkers.
Westchester County police say Justin Vaque may have been speeding and talking on a cell phone when his Land Rover went over the guard rail, slid down an embankment and rolled upside down in the Bronx River Saturday. Vaque, who lived in the Wakefield neighborhood of the Bronx, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vaque's brother, Jaime, says he'll never remove Justin's necklace. Vaque was supposed to attend his uncle's bachelor party Saturday night.
Vaque's father says he was an excellent student and extremely hard working. His funeral will be held Tuesday.
The medical examiner has yet to determine Vaque's cause of death.
