Bicycle Sundays returned this weekend, giving residents a chance to enjoy a traffic-free ride along the Bronx River Parkway.
The long-running program, presented by Westchester County Parks and supported by the Westchester Parks Foundation and its partners, allows cyclists, walkers and joggers to take over a stretch of roadway normally reserved for cars.
Organizers say the goal is to provide people with a safe way to get outside and stay active while enjoying the County's park system.
“We believe it's really important for people to be able to get outside, recreate, and enjoy the Bronx River recreation in a different way,” said Christine La Porta, CFO and Executive Director of the Westchester Parks Foundation.
Bicycle Sundays will continue throughout the warmer months, on the following dates:
May 3, 10, 17 and 31 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
June 7, 14, 21 and 28 (8 a.m. - noon)
July 12 and 26 (8 a.m. - noon)
Sept. 13, 20 and 27 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
Oct. 4 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
